Carmin Smith was born on May 20, 1932 in the parish of St. James, Jamaica, West Indies.  Her parents were George Smith and Francella Wright.  She carried the spirit of the island with her throughout her life, a deep-rooted strength, a love for her culture, and a quiet resilience that defined her journey.  After immigrating to the United States, Carmin devoted her professional life as a nursing assistant at New York Hospital.

Ms. Carmin Smith departed this life on Monday, June 23, 2025.  In addition to her precious grandchildren, Peter and Sophia who she adored, she has left a daughter, Yvonne, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial will be held to honor her legacy.
