Elizabeth
Archie
Aug 25, 1946 — Dec 16, 2022
"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
-Psalm 118:24 KJV
Elizabeth Archie closed her eyes to sleep on Friday, December 16, 2022. She was born on August 25, 1946, in Tifton, Georgia. At a young age, her family moved to Tampa, Florida, where she attended Carver Elementary and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School in 1964. After high school, Elizabeth attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and majored in education.
In the early 70s, she and her daughter, Adrienne, relocated to Detroit, Michigan. Elizabeth started working at the offices of the National Bank of Detroit, today is known as Chase. During the mid-90s, she and her son Darien, relocated to Leesburg, Georgia to live closer to Adrienne and her young children because being around family and quality of life was very important to her. Once settled in Georgia, she worked as a restaurant manager. Then later, as an associate at Walmart. Elizabeth moved a final time to Orlando, Florida in 2006 to again be close to Adrienne and her growing family. She continued working and retired from Walmart after being with the company for fifteen years. She was one of the most beloved and respected persons at her job. Her goal after retirement was to focus on family and health.
She enjoyed waking up early, turning on her nightstand light, and reading her daily devotional and bible. She made sure to pray before any situation and asked the Lord to give her strength. She loved supporting her granddaughters in all of their endeavors, including school activities and sports. Elizabeth encouraged her children and grandchildren to keep their heads up when life challenges were too hard. God blessed her with many gifts, including the gifts of generosity, service, and nonstop positivity.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son and daughter-in-law - Darien and Melinda Lee of Athens, Georgia; her granddaughters - Brazia Keys with great-grandson Zaydrien, of Atlanta, Georgia, Brashella and Brashell Keys, of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of other relatives & friends.
