Essie Hilton Wilson died on March 4, 2019, at Arden Courts in Winter Springs, Florida. Essie was born on July 9, 1911, in Clermont, Florida to Alfred Hayes Hilton and Margaret Jackson Hilton. Her parents moved the family from Clermont to Orlando, Florida when Essie was a child. She attended Jones High School and graduated in 1933. After graduation, she worked as a domestic for a number of years before enrolling in extension courses at Bethune Cookman College where she earned a degree to become a School Teacher. In 1952 Essie started working for the Orange County School System, teaching students at the Holden Street School and Durrance Elementary Schools. Essie and Fred were the founding members of the Jones High School Marching Band Parent Association. Essie was a lifetime, loyal and faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Hilton McCaskill, Leona Hilton Lucas, Helen Hilton Hankinson, and Gladys Hilton Baker. She is survived by her nephews, Robert Belle, Griffin, Georgia; Kenneth Hankinson, Pinole, California; Yusuf Rahman, Atlanta, Georgia, Logan Belle, Orlando, Florida, and Rodney Belle, Linden, New Jersey; nieces Terri Belle, Orlando, Florida, Francine Rogers, San Diego, California, and a host of extended family members.
