Mrs. Helen Lawrence was born on September 13, 1935.  Her parents were Ed and Hettie Gilchrist in Lumberton, North Carolina and was educated in the Robeson County Public School System of North Carolina and Seminole County Public School system of Sanford, FL

She was a member of Abundant Life Ministries Church of Sanford, FL, Pastor Kevin L. Davis.  She was also the lead singer of the Spiritual Travelers.

Mrs. Lawrence passed on Thursday, April 10, 2025.  Left to cherish her memory are her ten children:  Mikel Gilchrist, Helen Jonita Gilchrist, Henry Dwight Gilchrist (Lucretia), Loretta Paige, Gail Lawrence, Starregina Lawrence, Dennis Lawrence, Eldred Lawrence, Tammy Lawrence, and Eric Lawrence; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends..

Both Visitation (Friday, April 18, 2025, 5-7pm) and Funeral (Saturday, April 19, 2025, 11a.m). will be held at St. Paul MBC, 813 Pine Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771.  Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford, FL.
