Reflections of Life for Hiawatha "Pop" Sanders

A Time to be Born.....Hiawatha Sanders was born on February 17, 1954 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, beloved son of Sallie L. Ward and the late Willie Primm.
A Time to be Educated....Hiawatha received his early educational experiences from within the Neshoba County Public School System in Philadelphia, Mississippi. However, Hiawatha moved to Orlando, Florida and graduated from Jones High School in 1972.
A Time to Love, be Fruitful and Multiply...Hiawatha met the love of his life, Dr. Matricia H. Sanders, and shortly thereafter, they were joined in Holy Matrimony. The union was blessed with the birth of Hiawatha's oldest and Matricia's only child, Dr. Calandria U. (Sanders) Smith. Hiawatha was also blessed with two sons: Kendrix Bullard and the late Ontwon Taylor.
A Time to Work....Having been taught early in life about work ethics. Hiawatha become employed at Delta Airlines in Orlando, Florida and also worked many years for Artesian Pools and the Family Restaurant and Bar Business.
A Time to Rejoice....Hiawatha accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior early in life. He was ordained a Junior Deacon at his home church in Mississippi. He later joined in fellowship with Open Door Ministries of Orlando, Florida.
A Time to Say Goodnight....On Monday afternoon, April 6, 2020, our beloved Hiawatha Sanders transitioned to his heavenly home. He is preceded in death by his Father, Willie Primm, Stepfather, the late Frazier Ward, his youngest sister, Michelle Ward, and son, Ontwon Taylor.
A Time to Mourn....Left to cherish his loving memories are many, including his beloved Mother, Sallie L. Ward of Orlando, Florida; his children: Dr. Calandria U. Smith (Ron) and Kendrix Bullard (Veronica); his brothers and sister: Larry Simmons (Pat), Evelyn Simmons, Donnie Simmons, and Gregory Simmons, Sr.; 18 grandchildren; one aunt: Johnnie Nieves; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
