Horace Nelson Mobley, Sr. was born in McCrae, Georgia on September 20, 1945 to the late Felton and Lestola Mobley,  At the age of 2, his parents relocated to Florida. His early childhood education was received at Holden Street Elementary, Orange County Public School System.  At the age of 8 he became critically ill with spinal meningitis and had to be airlifted to Craig Rehab. Medical Center, Denver, CO where he received intensive medical and rehabilitation for several years.  Even though he faced this struggle, he push forward with a full and productive life:  he completed high school, worked for Walt Disney World, and traveled.  Also, Horace was married to the late Ester Mobley and from this union 3 children were born.  He later married Rhoda Mobley and from this union 3 children were born.

Left to cherish his memory are: daughter Kenya Applin, sons, Horace Mobley, Jr., Hilton Mobley, Anthony Mobley, and Craig Mobley; brother, William Mobley; and sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Ceteria Hayles, Joyce Mobley, and Gloria Coleman; and 23 grandchildren,30 great grandchildren, 1 uncle (Freddie Mobley) and a host of other relatives and friends.
