James Alvin Nance, Sr. was born on November 24, 1944 to his loving parents, Charley and Virginia Nance.

He received his education from the Volusia County Public School System and Daytona State College. His occupation was a Electronic Technician and he served in the U.S. Air Force.

James was a faithful member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father: Charley Nance; mother: Viriginia Nance; his sisters: Christine Simpkins, Ernestine Gilmore, Rita Dyer, Jean Nance, and Dorothy Hill; brothers: Willie and Bert Nance.

James leaves to cherish his memories: Wife: Retha Nance of Winter Springs, FL; Sons: Timothy Nance of Arlington, Texas and James Nance, Jr. of Winter Springs, FL; Brothers: Terry Nance of Las Vegas, Nevada; Sister: Melva Nance of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Grandchildren: Tranice Nance, Timothy Nance, Jr., Jayquan Nance, and Jayla Nance.
