Jul 26, 1951 — Mar 11, 2023
Joseph George Ward was born on July 26, 1951 in Sanford, Florida to the late George and Roberta McCoy Ward. He was the 5 th child born to them and the 12 th child out of 13 children. Joseph has joined his 5 brothers Willie F. Miller, Richard R. Miller, Eddie J. Miller, Albert J. Miller, and Freddy L. Miller along with 3 sisters, Etta A. Williams, Ruby L. Badger, and Dolly J. Ward in heaven. While watching over his surviving siblings, Virgie Rouse, Johnny (Diane Ward, Mattie B. Chiles, and Bessie Ward.
Joseph went to Goldsboro Elementary School, graduated, and then attended Crooms High School and graduated from there in 1969. He left Sanford, Florida in 1971 and moved to Rochester, New York and dreamed of going to California one day. So the daydream came true. He moved to Oakland, California in the 70s and he started his Cab company and some of his earnings he sent his mother some money..
When Joseph was in church he was mentored by his Pastor and later ordained to become a Baptist Minister in the late 80s or earlier 90s so when he heard we were celebrating Mother's 100 th Birthday , October 12, 2012, so he decided to move back to Florida and help care for our Mother and returning home Joseph started an avid coin collection, fishing, and he loved to read, especially the Bible and he went to a Jehovah Witness Church for the word. Later he became ill and he was still in good spirits.
Joseph will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
