Clara Weaver McAlister was born on July 22, 1924, in Orlando, Florida to the late Nathaniel and Clarisa Weaver. She attended Jones High School. She joined Shiloh Baptist Church of Orlando, where served faithfully and was baptized by the late Reverend T.C. Collier. She married Anthony McAlister, an Air Force Pilot. After relocating to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for a number of years, she relocated back to Orlando, Florida. Upon moving back to Orlando, she continued her service to the King at Shiloh Baptist Church, and served faithfully in the choir. When the Lord called her home, she was an active, energized, and participating member-servant of Greater Trinity Baptist Fellowship Church of Orlando, where Dr. Alvin White, Jr. was her pastor. She loved her pastor and his wife, and was one of the "planting" members of Greater Trinity Church. She was genuinely revered, and respectfully called, "Mother Clara". She, of course, returned the LOVE bountifully.

Mother Clara had one grandson, James Smith, and one-great grandson, Mason McAlister of Philadelphia who both preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one son: Anthony McAlister, Jr. of Orlando, Florida; one daughter: Marilyn Green of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters: Shanique, Shedora, and Sherea, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and one great-grandson: Safir McAlister of Philadelphia. She leaves a Goddaughter, Elaine Cole; special niece: Beverly J. Simmons; special cousins: Christine Austin and Alberta McKnight; those with whom she felt a close, motherly bond, Loretta Washington, Ann Holland, Mary Kay, and Taylor & Patricia Bryant; special friends, Bennette Johnson and Maude Johnson;
