Obituary

Biographical Sketch of Mother Lillian Rose Gipson Malone

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead, which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Rev. 14:13

A Time to be Born

Listen to me, descendants of Jacob, all you who remain in Israel. I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. Isaiah 46:3

Mother Lillian Malone was born on Thursday, January 13, 1949 in Sanford, Florida to the late Rev. Cleve Gipson and Henry Lee Rollin Gipson. She was the first of two children born to this union. Her brother Isiah Walker Sr. and George Dixon preceded her in death.

A Time to Love

Love is patient, love is kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4.

United in Holy Matrimony to Cubit Malone, Sr. who preceded her in death.

A Time to Serve

The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; Titus 2:3

In her early years, she was spiritually nurtured at Morning Glory Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Rev. Andrew Evans and later the Rev. Jimmie Blake. Mother Malone later became a faithful member of First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Harry D. Rucker, Sr. where she was a member of the Deaconess Ministry and Senior Women's Ministry.  Mother Malone later decided to follow the leadership of her son, Pastor Cubit Malone, Jr, becoming a faithful and dedicated member of Greater Providence Worship Center, Sanford, FL. She was a member of the Sunday School Ministry and currently served as President of the Golden Girls Ministry.

A Time to Learn and Serve

If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. Romans 12:7

Mother Malone received her early education in the public schools of Seminole County, graduating from The Great Crooms High School in Sanford, FL. She furthered her education, attending Seminole Junior College (now Seminole Community College) studying elementary education. After working at General Dynamics for several years, she later pursued her passion to work with children. Her career with the Seminole County Public School System led her to working at Hopper Elementary and later Goldsboro Elementary Sanford, FL. She worked as a Preschool Teacher and School Nurse. Her students still remember and express their love for the never-ending support and continuous encouragement she has provided throughout the years. In addition to her love for education and others, she will be remembered for the countless specially crocheted items she made for others with so much love. We will all miss those wholesome, delicious meals, her homemade sweet potato pies, pound cakes and her famous banana nut bread that she proudly made and blessed so many with. We will mostly miss the words of wisdom, encouragement, support and never ending love for her family. Her big smile and laughter was infectious and she always left many surprised at how comical she was. She never met a stranger and her goal was to make everyone feel loved.

A Time to Depart

For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. Romans 14:8

Monday, August 17, 2020 will be a day that will forever live in the hearts of Mother Malone's family and dearest friends. God picked his beautiful "Rose" from his garden and she peacefully accepted rest from labor to reward.
