Sheralyn J. Brinson, 75, well known by her family and friends as "Donnie", was called to her heavenly home Monday, May 10, 2021, at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, FL.  She was born on June 8, 1945, in Sanford, Seminole County, FL, to the late Damon Sylvester and Jewell Moore Jackson. She attended the public schools of Seminole County and graduated from Crooms Academy High School as part of the Extraordinary Class of 1963.

After graduation, she relocated to Rochester, NY where she completed the New York State Stenography Program and Cornell University's Career Development Center Program for Women. She worked as a Senior Stenographer for 18 years for various New York State Governmental Agencies. She returned to Florida in 1981 and was employed as an Executive Administrative Assistant for Digital Equipment Corporation (now Hewlett Packard); the United States District Court and Seminole County Public Works Department; she retired in 2011.

Sheralyn was the founder and "The Voice", of the "Rejoice" Radio broadcast which aired Sunday mornings via the airwaves of WSDO1400-AM. The "Rejoice" Radio Broadcast featured Gospel music, inspirational spoken word messages, church and community announcements and more. Her ministry has always been to help others by music, word and/or deed.

As a columnist for the Sanford Herald Newspaper, Sheralyn wrote a bi-weekly column, "The Bulletin Board", wherein she reported on positive events in Sanford and around the world. Sheralyn was active with the Eastside/Westside Community Meetings and other community-related initiatives. The Martin Luther King Celebration Choir held a very special place in her heart, where she served as the Choir's Administrative Assistant. Additionally, she was a proud member of the E.E. Minott Inspirational Choir (participating in scholarship concerts.) She was the Reunion President for the Crooms Extraordinary Class of 1963 and served as Co-Chairperson and Chairperson respectively of the 2007 and 2010 Crooms Grand Reunions. Sheralyn also volunteered in the Seminole County Public Schools Dividends Program, mentoring high school students at Crooms Academy of Information Technology from 2005-2018. She also served as a resource and mentor for other youth and young adults in the community; they affectionately called her, "Ms. B".

Sheralyn was a faithful and dedicated member of Calvary Temple of Praise Church, in Sanford, FL, and well known throughout Central Florida, New York, and beyond.

Sheralyn loved her children, grandchildren, family, music, fishing, and serving the Sanford Community. She has received numerous awards and honors of excellence for work and her dedicated community service in Rochester NY and Sanford FL.

Sheralyn leaves to cherish her memory, son, Jacob Ponder Brinson Jr. (Tracy), Rochester, NY; daughter, Kimberly Brinson-Moorehead (Corey), Atlanta, GA; six grand-children, Shannon Korey Brinson, Rochester,  NY; Candice Star Brinson, Charlotte, NC; Diamond Elise Moorehead, Columbia, SC; Dominique Camryn Brinson, Rochester, NY; Krystal Denise Moorehead, Atlanta, GA; Kendall Alexander Brinson, Rochester, NY; sisters, Mary L. Fears (Joel), Daytona Beach, FL, Doris Goins (Ellis), New Orleans, LA; brother, Jimmy Dean Jackson, New Orleans, LA., sister/nieces, Irene Katrinka Bradley, Scottsdale AZ; Fannie Martin, Sanford, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, classmates, and friends.
