Obituary

Shirley Altamese Johnson, will be lovingly misse3d.  Born November 7, 1952 in Sanford, FL, as the youngest of Archie and Evelyn Johnson's five children.  The Johnsons later moved to Altamonte Springs, FL where she grew up and resided until God called her home.  Shirley graduated From Lyman High School in Longwood, FL. Shirley furthered her education and received both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the University of Central Florida.  She taught school in Seminole and Orange counties.

Well known for her community involvement in Altamonte Springs, she also worked and served God as a member of the St. John MB Church for more than 30 years.  She later joined the Open Doors MB Church in Eatonville and continued to serve God and the Eatonville Community until her health failed.

In this life, Shirley was blessed with helping to nurture her non-biological children in the classrooms and through the youth department at church.  But, she had two very special nephews, Dion and Shelvin, to whom she became a second Mon, helping to reach them about life, responsibilities and respect.

Shirley passed away on October 16, 2024. Preceding her in death were her parents, Archie and Evelyn Johnson; Brothers:  John Frank Smith and James Archie Johnson.  She leaves to mourn her passing three sisters:  Frankie Smith-Matthews, Ocala Fl. Vivian Johnson-McGill, Casselberry, FFL and Louise Walker Gainesville, FL, one aunt:  Doretha (Abram) Yates and one Uncle:  Cleveland Smith.
