Willie Louise Straws was born in Lubbock, TX to the proud parents of Ervin and Lillan Moore Sparks.  She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Dillard's University in New Orleans, LA and a Master's degree from Boston University.  She was employed as a Professional at Pikes Peak Community College.  She was a member of the Diamond Delta Sorority.
